Compaq 110c screen resolution help

I have this notebook

When i run a program say windows media player for example, it goes off the page and i cant change the resolution so i can see the full window of the prorgam so i can access all the buttons on that program.

Anybody any ideas on how to do it? I tried the usual display settings but thats set to 1024 x 576 and i cant change it

Please help
