CDDA IP.bin?, changing CDDA
whats up, Im trying to switch the CDDA tracks for the [supposed] ECHELON release of Championship surfer but, like most echelon releses, the disk doesnt contain the IP.bin in the table o contents so im having some dificulty making it selfboot and i have some questions.
When changing out the CDDA tracks do the new ones have to be the same length as the old for it to load?
Oviosly you need an IP.bin made for CDDA games(because a normal one hasnt worked) but can it be any game with CDDA or does it have to be written specialy for that one?
Is there any way to create an ip.bin provided you have the 1st_read.bin and all the new CDDA tracks?
I know its a problem with the ip.bin and the CDDA because when i left out the CDDA and used a normal (non CDDA ip.bin) it booted perfictly.
the game is already selfboot.....how the hell did they do it!!!???
Ive made so many coasters so far i cant see my floor, any help is appreacheated.

Re: CDDA IP.bin?, changing CDDA
Also, Ive tryed opening up the origanal image in a hex editor and looking for the begining of the ip.bin
SEGA SEGAKATANA
SEGA ENTERPRISES
2CC0 GD-ROM1/1
JUE 0019A10
T41403N V1.002
20001023
0WINCEOS.BIN
SEGA LC-T-414
CHAMPIONSHIP SUR
FER
and copying to where i thought was the end, saving it as ip.bin and injecting it into the iso but it still didnt work. Is there any rule of thumb to tell where the end is and mabey that would work. Or a guide to selfbooting CDDA games without a provided IP.bin?

there is a way to extract the ip.bin with isobuster, by specifing certain parameters, in the extract file options, its been sooooo long, i dont thibk a search will yield any results. Its something about a 16 byte, and a certain lba value.
Also the game is a winCE type, so you'll probably need a winCE type ip.bin. there is a program called ipbin4win i think. that works with winCE type files. and the bincon hack as well. Good luck finding these tools though, as they are pretty hard to come by. check megagames.com
As far as the CDDA tracks, make them as close to the originals as possible. try using isobuster, and replacign the original tracks with the inject feature, and see if that works. you'll essentially be preserving the ISO structure, and may not ned any hacks! good luck

i think cdirip breaks the cdi down to an ISO, and the 4 sec audio track.
TData01.iso, TAudio02.wav
i could be wrong though, it has been a while....

use the ip.bin from another game, and edit it with ipbin4win, if you need to.
