I have a Voodoo 3-3000 with TV-out, and when I used the TV-out feature, I hooked s-video from the card, directly to the s-video into my TV, enabling the TV-output setting on the computer and changing the channel to AV/0 etc.

If your TV doesn't have an s-video connector, then you can buy an s-video+audio to scart converter, which should do the job. I last saw loads of these converter leads from Comet.

Well, you can use the TV as a monitor with the TV-out feature, but, if I remember correctly, you won't be able to use both the monitor and TV at the same time.

When you enable the TV-out in the computers Control Panel -> Display, the monitor will switch itself off, and the picture will appear on the TV. From there on, you will have to use the TV to navigate through the OS.

Also, its better to have your monitor resolution to something low, like 800x600, 640x480, as all the computer icons will appear really small on the TV, due to the higher res monitor settings and lower res TV output. I always use 1024x768, and, as you can guess, the icons would be tiny. The PAL TV resolution is something like 352x244.

Both the Voodoo 3 (3000 and 3500) cards allow TV-out. Yes, you will need a TV tuner card to watch TV on your PC. Though, the Voodoo 3500 has a video capture feature.
