I recently bought Nero Burning ROM (version 5.5.6.4) and the data CD part of it is great. However, I am having problems making audio CD's. Whenever I drag a CD Audio track into the new compilation window, Nero does its DAE thing. But when I play the extracted file, it sounds terrible. Lots of clicks and pops and I can barely make out the track. However, if i use Windows Media Player to copy the track to my hard drive, the file sounds perfect (even when played in Nero). Does anybody else have this problem? If so are there any solutions. I have an HP 9210i CD burner, and a NEC 40x regular cd ROM. Other specs are:

Win XP Pro
Athlon 1.3 GHz (200MHz FSB)
384 MB Crucial PC 133 SDRAM
MSI K7T Turbo with raid, (don't have the raid enabled though)
Adaptec 29160N SCSI adapter
Leadtek Ge Force 2 Pro 64 MB
Turtle Beach Sanata Cruz (latest 4142 drivers)
Intel 10/100 NIC

One more thing... I have disabled the IMAPI service in Win XP

Thanks for any help offered.

Update:

I have installed the recently released 5.5.7.2 and I STILL get this problem.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
