Ok, something went very wrong with my computer overnight. What happened, I am not sure, but everytime I open Easy Cd Creator it will not allow me and it says:

"Easy Cd Creator Initialization Has Failed"

Then another message pops up and says

"Exception In CreatInstanc of Creator!"

Any thoughts?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software twice
and it does not work, the message keeps on coming up.
any suggestions?

I got it to open briefly, however, no cd player was
attached the Easy CD Creator so I went to the roxio
web site and downloaded the update and it gave me the
same messages again once the download (which took 75
mins) finished:

"Easy Cd Creator Initilization Has Failed"

"Exception In CreatInstanc of Creator!"

any suggestions?

I am using Windows 98, Version 5.02 of Easy Cd Creator and I have a TDK 241040b drive

I have another cd burning version working....should I just keep with that one? Is there anyway to get Easy Cd Creator 5.02 to work again?

Hi M8 try a clean instail of easy cd creator like this 1. Uninstall ALL CD Burning software through Add/Remove Programs, including previous versions of Easy CD Creator, or Third-Party CD Burning software that may have come with your recorder.

2. Before rebooting, perform a find files/folder on the following files, making sure to search on the hard drive where the Operating System was installed, and change the file extensions to .old (e.g., cdr4vsd.vxd would be cdr4vsd.old)

- Cdr4vsd.vxd

- Cdr4vsd.sys

- Cdr4dll.dll

- Cdral.dll

- Cdrtc.dll

3. Go to C:\Program Files and remove the Adaptec folder. Go to Windows Explorer and open c:\Program Files\Common Files\Install Shield and move the 2 folders to your recycle bin.

***NOTE*** The next step involves editing your System Registry, we strongly recommend you export your registry before attempting any editing. Please note that editing your registry incorrectly can cause irreparable system damage. We recommend that if you do not feel comfortable editing your registry that you skip this step.

4. Go to Start/Run and type "regedit." Go to HKey_Local_Machine/Software. Remove the Adaptec folder.

5. Reboot the system

6. Make sure there are no programs running in the background and disable all icons next to the clock on the Start Bar.

7. Reinstall the software, using default install directory.

8. Reboot the system

9. Download and run the Easy CD Creator updates from http://www.roxio.com/en/support/winupdates.html

10. Restart one last time.

that should help you out M8 Colin
