Hey gurus,
I screwed up royally attempting a Neo 4 install and think I irreparably damaged the gap rom. I chickened out after i realized i screwed up and de-soldered the 17 points on the rom I had already done to see if the system would still boot before i went any further--no such luck, just a black screen. it looks like i stayed on a little too long and burned too far into some of the points on the rom.
So my question is, should I go ahead and complete the install since the neo 4 bypasses the ps2 rom and uses it's own, or is this not the case? i only assume this because of the lead that you have to cut to the rom--am i correct or does it still require some functionality of the ps2 rom that i may have destroyed?
any input on this issue would be greatly appreciated. i'll probably go ahead and give it a go anyway, but would feel better if i knew whether or not i was just wasting my time since i already have some reasonable offers for the broken ps2...
Thanks in advance!
