i have just bought a artec 40r/12rw/48x model numbere wrr 4048, i installed the bundled nero software, but it only recognises the drive as an artec wra - wa48 and that is a 32 speed recorder, i cannot record at 40 speed it wont even show that speed even with 40 speed recordable disc. I yupdated the nero software to 5.5.8.2 and still it wont recognise the drive as a wrr 4048, anyone any ideas, i have disabled just speed in case that was the problem but it was'nt

I have exactly the same problems and I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO SOLVE THEM! I can't understand why winxp don't detect the right CDRW! And there are no drivers to download!

i have since sorted the problem , i had a reply from aretec and it is a fault in the unit, they are not recalling them. they told me to take it back for a refund, which i did, once i had the proof, and i bought the liteon unit instead.
