Hi,

I want to start making VCD's and was wondering the following?

1: When I am making the initial capture should I be capturing as MPEG1 or should I be capturing at something else like AVI....

I know that when I create my VIdeo CD in "WINONCD 3.8" it does a certain amount of encoding.

But if i capture the initial video in AVI will it make the overall VCD better quality?

Thanks for reading this post.

Sounds like you're capturing from tv or VHS.
Depends what capture card you're using.
If you can capture to mpeg-1, then I suggest you do so, as VCD is basically mpeg-1.
I use a Matrox Marvel card, which only captures to AVI. I then have to convert to mpeg-1.
It's time consuming.
