Well well well....

It appears that the new copy-protection can be defeated....

Though many of us may not have the advanced technology required to do it...

What is this mystery tecnology??

It is ... A FELT TIPPED MARKER

Read this article from CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/industry/05/21/bc.media.cd.piracy.reut.reut/index.html)

Here is a quote from the article:

Monday, Reuters obtained an ordinary copy of Celine Dion's newest release "A New Day Has Come," which comes embedded with Sony's "Key2Audio" technology.

After an initial attempt to play the disc on a PC resulted in failure, the edge of the shiny side of the disc was blackened out with a felt tip marker. The second attempt with the marked-up CD played and copied to the hard drive without a hitch.

I just think this is HILARIOUS!!! I love it.

Run out boys & girls and grab some markers. :D

I might even buy the new Celine Dion CD just to test it out!! ....NAH!! :D

I could not agree more, Jamal! As long as they only use these protections on the "big-time selling" albums, it is fine with me! Only crap on those anyway! :p
If they start to use protection on albums from groups like Bad Religion, Ozzy Osbourne, Monster Magnet and Gluecifer, then this is serious! That would mean war.....:D
