I took the keys out my keyboard today to clean them, connected the keyboard again and it came up with a no keyboard error.
So i tried several more keybaords...exactly the same :(

I dunno whats happended but i think somehow my ps/2 port is gone....is there any way to fix it?
I could try using a usb keyboard but that has to be enabled in the bios and i dont know if it is or not...and obviously ive got no way of knowing, so im not buying a usb kb only for it to not work

Does it look like my mobo is knackered (i got an AOpen AK33 socket a btw)
and if i need to get a new one is the ECS K7S5A Socket A any good cos ive heard it is and the price is great

At the minute im using my sisters motherboard lol so i need to know if i need 2 buy a new one

any help appreciated

I guess you probably re-connected your keyboard to your computer when it was on right? You must NEVER do this with ps/2 ports. I've seen this a lot, you have just blown your ps/2 port. I don't think there's any way to fixing it. You have to either get a whole new motherboard or as you suggested, get a usb keyboard.

Well actually i didnt....i shut down and re-connected....

Altho i didnt know it was that serious if u do it when its on....people do it at college all the time

Looks like new motherboard then...i just wanted to be sure...and i dont really wanna use a usb keyboard anyway

just a little question do you have a ps2 mouse or a usb if your using a usb mouse are you sure you put the keyboard in the right ps2 socket
It may be a silly question, but just a thought
