I have a HP 9300 CD Writer Plus in a P4 / 1.5ghz / 256mb / Nvidia Geforce 2 video card system ( I built the system). It is configured as a secondary slave to a DVD Player as secondary master master. I have tried 3 different CDR media and the same thing kepps happening. The writer will prepare everything and seem to run perfect until it actually starts to write then it will go between 0 to 2% written (according to progress bar) and the progress bar stops. It acts as if it is writing, but it is not. I look at the drive lights and the second light is green not red like it should be and the other green is blinking. I have to hit ctrl-alt-del to close down the program then reboot to get the CDR out of the drive! This happens both in test mode and record mode and in session or finalize mode, it doesn't matter.

Just for the heck of it, I loaded my old Mitsumi 2 speed with a recent fimware update on it and it does the same thing! Then I imported a session from a previously recorded cd and then wrote to it (with the mitsumi) and it worked! I don't get it!!! Can you help??? Thanks.

Not sure if this helps m8 but I had problems burning while using Win XP. I had problems when using Clone CD. I am not sure what software you are using..Had to use ForceASPI to make an aspi layer when using XP. Everything okay now. Do a search on GOOGLE for it. Quick and easy to use. Hope this helps, if not ask some one more intelligent:hdspin:

I'm wondering wich burnprogiies are installed on your system.
Is Easy CD creator installed??? and Clonecd or NERO ???

Please check for these files in C:\Windows\System\Iosubsys\ directory and RENAME them (do NOT delete , you might need these files after all):

Atapchng.vxd
Necatapi.vxd
Scsi1hlp.vxd [this one causes the most problems]
Torisan3.vxd

Restart ypur system and try to burn again.
