I am using WinXP. I have tried all types of auto dialup, but I find when I leave my computer to do its business, I find that the modem has connected twice when looking at the task manager. One is listed as operational and he other as non-operational. Either way I don't get a connection to the net.

I'm using an ESS modem if that helps.
I'm after a cur for this or a program to close connections on certain ports, or to be able to close a port and reconnect it, without restarting my comp.

is one of the connections your LAN ?
try removing and adding your DUN again
try removing and adding your MODEM again
