After installing the mod, the cd didnt spin at all and the white sony logo didnt even come up. I know the laser was working because I could see the red light but the game wasnt spinning. I then removed the mod to see if it was that but no, the same thing, laser working but no spinning at all. So now im pissed off because I cant even play any games. I was wondering if its the orange ribbon thats connected to motor because I saw a little tiny tear on it and I might have teard it when installing the mod. Did anyone ever have this problem?Please HELP!

I had this problem once it turned out that i had dripped/splashed a very tiny amount of solder and it was shorting one of the chips out....
i didn't get the lazer though, the only thinb that did work on mine was the power led! probly not the reply you wanted but thats the only time i ever had this prob.

Did you ever get it to work again? Someone told me to use some desoldering braid to remove excess solder. I havent tried this yet but was wondering if this is what you did.

yes m8, de-soldering braid is perfect for the job. i did get it working and it was quite a relief as the guy i was doing it for was sitting on my sofa waiting for it!.... (he wasn't to happy at first but after it was working he was as chuffed as me).

I tried it but no luck. I wonder what happened to the damn thing. Well Im gonna go try it once more and see if I dripped some away from the solder points.

m8 take a good look all over, mine was no where near the chip instalation.
failing that just double checkall other connections or contact phaseiincs, as he has offered his services :)

I found out whats the problem its the smf fuse called ps604 2.3 amp. The thing is how do I replace it. Do they sell these in stores? I also heard of a way you can do this with like pieces of wire but I dont know how. Do you know?
