Mitsui Silver are considered by many to be the the best of this bunch especially at high speed burning. The Ritek Silver and Princo Silver are not bad up to 32X in my experience. You should use CDR Identifier or similar to find out the true identity of these disks so we can better compare.

I suggest you buy the best you can afford for your important stuff and use other brands for daily burning needs. Use CD Speed to find out how they fare with your burner (the Scandisk function is great to reveal C2 errors which can pass undetected by the system because of error correction).

I use Prico Silvers for my daily needs, this is the info I get from CDR Identifier:

ATIP: 97m 27s 28f
Disc Manufacturer: Princo Co.
Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

They are 16X certified but burn fine up to 32X on my 40X Lite-ON as read by my 16X Lite-ON DVD (burnt at 40X they give C2 errors on the DVD even though they read fine on the burner and my old Toshiba XM-6502B CD-ROM).

HTH a bit. OC Freak has a great post on media quality somewhere on this board, use the search function for "best media".
