I just put a check in the mail for a refurbished computer that comes with a cd-rw, it's a Hewlite Packard (spelling?) computer and I was wondering is that any worse than cd-rw's you would buy by themselves?

you say it is refurbished.does it come from a repitable company with some sort of warranty. and what spec is the pc.sorry for diversifying but these things are impotant.normally a good company will supply a reasonable writer, you get what you pays for,all hp writers ie the earlier ones are normally ok.you can always upgrade the writer at a later stage.without knowing the spec on the pc you ordered it is hard to say anymore.colin

Thanks for the reply colin, here's what I ordered, does this look like I got a good deal? As you can probably tell, I am not really expierenced with computers but what I basically got it for is to burn cd's off the internet, so is this going to work just fine for me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The drive, if I remember correctly is probably a rebadaged Sony 140E. A good solid drive that supports RAW DAO 96, but not overburning or 1:1 copies of SafeDisc2.
