I'm about to upgrade my hardware and am spending more and more time copying data CDs and recording audio from HDD to CD-R.
I would also like to be able to watch DVDs and VCDs on the PC.
Therefore, I would like to know if I could get a Plextor 40/12/40 and a DVD/CD Rom combo and still expect reasonable copying speeds (at least 20x)

Thx for any help

as i understand your question you want a good cdrw/dvdcdrom combination which will copy at least 20x. my combination is a liteon 32/12/40 with a liteon dvdcdrom will copy with the correct media at 32x no problems.so if you like the 40x plex get that with a liteon dvdcdrom, you will have a good setup for backing up and watching dvds/vcds on a good dvdcdrom and cdrw.colin
