I read some ealier threads on how to copy Grand Theft Auto 3 for the PC with CloneCD and I became confused at what to do. I also read the FAQ and couldn't find a page with a CloneCD tutorial on it. Now what kind of protection is on this game? I used to burn games with CloneCD but it's been so long that I have forgotten exactly how to go about it. Can anyone supply any information on this or direct me to a website which can "tutor" me?

If you just give a website, could you also include what you know about burning GTA3? That'd be very helpful, thanks!

Use CloneCd with a read speed around 4x-8x(works fine for me with 8x) with FAST ERROR SKIP on and leave the rest defaults. Then download the hacked/modified BetaBlocker(don't know where to get this) and use it on the .img file(created after you made an image of the cd and their will also be .sub and .ccd). Then burn with defaults and don't use Amplify Weak Sectors. If you have a Lite On burner then use this as a reader and writer and DON'T use BetaBlocker with FAST ERROR SKIP.

When you say hacked/modified BetaBlocker, what do mean? What is the difference between the regular BetaBlocker and the one you're talking about? Just so if I come across it I know that I have it. Thanks!

The first BetaBlocker was able to copy SafeDisc 2 games. But then safedisc 2.5 and up came out so they had to modify Betablocker to fix the protection because the SafeDisc was getting past it. I have it so if you want me to email you it then leave your email or email me.

The latest versions of Clone CD, BlindWrite, etc. have all been updated to support SD2.51.xx, you don't need to use betablocker, especially as it is dependant on your hardware, if you have a lite-on burner, then you definatly don't need betablocker, AWS, etc.

Have a look here: http://aws-function.itsplace.de/englisch/brenner_frameset.html
and see if your drive is able to copy SDv2.51.xx

I have a Sony CRX160E and I went to www.cdcloning.tk and it says my it doesn't support it. I guess I really don't quite understand because I made a copy of my Unreal Tournament CD and I COULD burn it, well actually my bro did. That has SafeDisc on it... and yet www.cdcloning.tk says it's not possible to burn SafeDisc OR SafeDisc2. Does this just mean that it is unable to copy straight from CD to CD without BetaBlocker, etc? Or does it mean AT ALL. Geez, and I call myself computer knowledgeable... Sorry for being naive like this guys... just please reply.... Thanks AGAIN.

edit --- BetaBlocker 1.01 takes off SD2 2.5XXX whatever if you burner doesn't support, right? Correct me if I'm wrong...

Your drive is listed as not being able to backup SD2 pre v2.51.xx and SD2 v2.51.xx and newer. The list has nothing to do with SD v1.

Betablocker does not remove any of the SD CD checks, it just enables some drives that could not previously write the weak sectors to write the weak sectors.
