is it at all possible to record avi movies straight to video tape, without converting the file to vcd? im willing to buy any hardware to do it if i know that it is possible. i know that u can use ur tv like a monitor with a tv/out card so i dont see y u cant play avi movies on ur pc and record them onto video tape using a tv in/out card. but im not really sure so id apreciate any knowledge that any1 has on this subject so plz reply. thanks

You can connect a TV out card directly to a VCR , play the avi in full screen mode & record to VHS. The only trick is to get a TV out card that has conectors compatible with your VCR, some have AV cables, some scart and others S-Video and audio. So hit your local PC store and check out what's available.
