Ever since I got my PS2 I've tried to keep it as good as possible, but now I have this problem, disc read error. All my games have very little scratches if any. I've read about how you can clean dust out by blowing it with your dust buster. Does this mean your dust buster can go in reverse? All mine does is vacuum. And do you open your P2 up to get to the laser? How do you get to the laser eye? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you have to open up your ps2 to get to the laser. And if you have dust on your cd's you can use a can of air.

I don't need to clean my cd's, just the laser, so could I use a can of air on the eye?

Just wondering, do those cd-laser cleaners do anything at all?

Try one of those cd cleaners from the store, they are only a few bucks. Read instructions as they say DO NOT use your PS2 for fifteen minutes after cleaning.....

I noticed this by accident and it may just be a coinicidence but you may want to try it, (p.s. even though I tried it myself I don't actually recommend doing this, do it at your own risk I take no responsibility)
Get a ps2 back-up (or blank cd etc) and use a marker pen and just start colouring the inside of the cd data side, put it in your ps2 and you'll here your laser working. Eject the cd after a few seconds and try one of your games.
As I said I'm not sure how this could work as it seems really stupid but my CD-R games seem to work better. It's probably just coincidence though.
