Hey guys and girls,
Im having problems with my monitor settings. For some reason my screen is stuck on
640x840 pixels
and
16 colors (not High Bit)
and all my colors are distorted
I go under Control panel and try dragging the little scroll bar thing to 800x600 pixels but its stuck on 640X840 and my colors are also limited...How in the world can I get it to change back to its original state?
Im using Windows ME
Thanks for your help

First of all, Eclipse, you should find out what display adapter you have in your computer. Do you have some floppys/CDs with drivers from the manufacturer(the ones that you got when you purchased the computer) ?
If not, get a hardware diag program and see what video card you have. Here are some that you can use:
http://idb.newmail.ru/mvSysInfo.exe
http://www.sisoftware.demon.co.uk/sandra
http://www.hwinfo.com/
http://www.belarc.com/Download.html
After you find this thing out, just get the updated drivers and install them. More info in the Drivers forum, i'm gonna move it there for you.

Weird!
I had exact same problem. You don't have a Dell do you, if so use the eurotools disc with drivers on.

What kind of monitor is the system set to? The system will not let you set the resolution above the capabilities of the monitor attached to it. If the monitor is set to something like "default VGA" then 640x480 is all the driver will allow. Try switching the monitor setting.

Find out what make Video crad you have, possibly one of the following:
* nVidia
* ATI
* Kyro
*Savage
Type manufactures name into a search engine like google to find out the official web site. Go to the download section and download the latest drivers.
