Hi everyone.

I have a question for all you experts here. I want to connect 2 computers so they can share DSL but without the use of a hub. Heres what i have.

I have 2 NIC Cards on the host computer and 1 NIC Card on the computer that is connecting to the host.i have a Category 5e Snagless Patch Cable(The guy said i needed this cable to connect my DSL Modem to 1 of my NIC Cards, and i have a Cross Over Cable to connect the 2 computers together. I just need to know how to set everything up because this is very new to me. Thanks, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks :o)

First, you have to setup the network. You do this under your network properties. Make sure that that for your computer identification, you have the same workgroup name for both computers. Then all you need to do is bind a TCP/IP protocol to your NIC cards and assign their own IP on the network (ex: 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2). Restart windows. You should have the network up and running.

Now to share your internet connection, you can do it a variety of ways. You can use microsoft's built in ICS or you can install a proxy or a NAT program. Take a look at www.practicallynetworked.com for tips.
