My pc crashed, so I am trying to boot up my O.S. But it keeps saying that Win 2000 cannot run in DOS mode. So how can i boot up my system.

Secondly, anybody has an idea how i can edit something i scanned. I don't wanna re-type one of my articles, so i scanned it, but I am trying to edit some typings. How can i do that??

Please help me.

1 Try booting off the cd, go to the recovery console & type FIXBOOT
If it won't boot off the cd you can either create the boot floppys from the cd or download them from http://www.bootdisk.com/

2 You need to get an ocr (optical character recognition) prog. You do get them with most scanners. Run that over the scanned image & it will convert it to text. I would sugest you proof read it as they are never 100% accurate.

Thank you Richskie. the first one really helped me, but as for the second one, I dont think my scanner has the optical character recognition prog.
