I have just had that problem m8, but i have installed a chip in my xbox and it was a lose wire from the chip which caused the xbox light firstly to flash on and off 3 times then turn green and red.
So open the xbox up,

hi m8 it sounds like the hard drive has crashed
what i would do is contact xbox.com and get them to give u the
code for the xbox hard drive
i had the same problem with my machine and just turned it on
and press reset for 3 seconds and it worked again
but if its a chipped box could be a wire like the guy says

hi m8 nope that a lie if u tell them the xbox hard drive has crashed they
will give you a special code its simply by pressing the joy pad in a way
and it will reset the machine
phone up and ask again just say i have just bought it and its crashing
and they will give u the code for that xbox

Sorry to say, But jaffcakey, it is not the harddrive which is the problem m8.
As i said in my previous post, i had the same problem after just installing my chip. The green light trys to come on 3 times then flashes red then green. there is either a short on the board from a wire as the wires are pressed against the board when it is in the xbox,
I fixed mine by moving some wires about, and now works fine.

Ok can we PLEASE get back on the subject. Has anyone experienced this problem WITHOUT their Xbox being modded. If so how did you remedy the problem?

People having this problem, Have you used + and - points?? i.e. linked - point to the middle point? I think this could have knacked the chip! I think the L and P point replace the +, - thing. any one any idea?

I have had that problem AFTER my Xbox was chipped with Xtender. Removed the chip and it works fine. I'm getting it rechiped on Thursday. Will let you know what happens. hopefully just a missed point or something.
@c.grex - what are you talking about?...

He is refering to the points on the mod chip diagram of the Enigmah that was fooked up in the factory, the one that is still final but needs a link to be fitted and 2 wires on the same point as one is not used, am i right?

Peace
