I need to know what tools are needed to open the XBOX(screwdrivers, soldiering kit, etc...) so i can put in the mod chip when it comes in. thanx.:tup:

Yeah i have been searching myself. You need a Torx 10 and 20 screw driver, which is easy to get for 4 or 5 bucks. Look for T10 and T20 on the package label. The right solder iron and more important tip, right wires, and solder, i don't know.. please help someone.

u need torx 10 screwdriver, torx 20 screwdriver, a 15watt soldering iron preferebly, kynar wire, no clean solder (though i reccomend solder paste), de-solder braid and maybe some insulation tape to keep the mod in place (may want to tape the wires also)!

A big table & a nice light. Are any of you guys using a magnifying glass to check your points?

last post is probably the one w/ the most logic in it - which most forget or they just think they can do it on their desk, covered with all kind of every-day sh!t, making them loose screws or whatever.
(adjustable) light and magnifying glass are two of my fav's as well, tho i've heard you probably won't need no mag. glass as the solder points of the Xbox are quite clear to see and rather big.
(not talking about that TSOP chip mentioned in another post :blockhd:

a good soldering station will help

you may also need a torx 15 screwdriver to remove the hard drive from the case if you cant undo the cables at the back easily, the solder points are'nt large but they are spaced out more than in some psx installs.

guys, would one of you - who knows something about torx and resistorx - check out this thread?

Go to Radio shack and you can get the wire there for 3 bucks, 8 bucks for a 15 watt solder pen, and for solder they have .32 or .22 mm 40/60 solder, with flux already in it. total about 15 bucks. I only wish the tip of the solder gun was a bit smaller.

one of the best things i reccomend you use from what i have read in other posts is a good soldering station and kynar wire
