Tonypony1010 May 30, 2002, 04:49 PM The H&B go for £129.99 and Pioneer 444 for £180 multi region.
Those of u who has one or seen the performance, do the H&B just perform as well?
Ru$$Rip May 31, 2002, 02:36 PM The H&B m8 its the dogs danglies bits. I have had one for about 6 months and it plays EVERYTHING! It even plays those cheap www.bulkpaq.com DVDR's which cost about 60p perfectly. I bought it for its ability to cope with SVCD's - this is THE best standalone for these type of disks. I have noticed a slight voice synch problem on some VCD's - BUT WHO THE FRICK PLAYS VCD's ANYMORE??????? Muhahahahah
bub1 Jun 01, 2002, 09:49 AM Or you could get a Dansai 1010 or 852. They both play absolutely everything includind the cheap DVDR and all VCDs and SVCDS with constant bitrate setting or variable it just doesnt matter how you burn your disc I have tried every setting going on VCDs and SVCDs and everyone has worked 100%
Get one from Tescos £85 or £100

Ru$$Rip Jun 03, 2002, 01:05 PM IMOH I have had a Dansai 1010 and the H&B on the same TV and the H&B produced a superior picture in both colour definition and clarity. BUT it does cost 130 quid.

Dal
Tonypony1010 Jun 04, 2002, 09:42 AM I am a little tight for cash at the moment so I have not bought the player yet. However, im very tempted by what others are saying about it. I polly will buy one when i have the cash unless there is a better player for the price on the market.
w3dal Jun 04, 2002, 01:11 PM Tony,
Think im gonna go for the new Sony i found last night. The cheaper players that ive owned and seen in the past just dont match up to the quality that i need. There is nothing worse then trying to watch a movie and the sound or piccy is out of sync.
All the best

Ru$$Rip Jun 05, 2002, 03:41 AM W3dal - Sonys are VERY fussy about the media they use - especially when attempting to play SVCDs/VCD's. In my experience they only use media with the the old type dye, the new datasafes do not work at all. Take some sample SVCD/VCD's along to the shop to try before you buy.
Tonypony1010 Jun 05, 2002, 06:18 PM I would have prefer to buy the toshiba sd220e as its is a very good player however, the other attractive aspect for the HB is that it also has a karaoke feature and has good reviews aswell.
w3dal Jun 07, 2002, 04:46 PM Russ,
Thanks for the reply i have heard that they are funny machine with certain media. I use Verbs and they play fine in my m8's Sony so i should be okay. Any other recomendations on DVD players???
