Immatoity May 31, 2002, 05:21 AM Can I FDisk without a floppy? If so how? Roger Moore May 31, 2002, 05:30 AM You could always copy FDISK to say c:\ and when you go into DOS run it from there. Roger MasterMind May 31, 2002, 09:46 AM Or you can make bootable CD with FDISK on it. Also if you have another HDD then make it Master the present one as Slave and run FDISK from Master HDD. Only the thing is you will have to select Slave HDD in FDISK for partitioning if any. BTW, FDISKing from floppy is better. :) Immatoity Jun 14, 2002, 06:03 PM ok what i'm doing is installing another new extra hard drive-but pc has no floppy. should I do the cd thing or put it on existing c:\drive do i just restart machine with cd in it (how do i make sure its bootable?) & run fdisk from there?? instructions appreciated -dont wanna wipe existing one!! Hoss Jun 15, 2002, 01:17 AM Ummm depending what OS you will find Fdisk in one of your Windows folders. You can just run in DOS and type the \cd command getto that folder and run it. Or as someone else suggested just copy it to your C:\ drive and run it from there. |
