Ive had a hell of a lot of trouble with this U>S Robotics modem i'm trying to install. Ive tried it on all operating sytems and neither will find a driver for it apart from windows xp which i do not want on my sytem. I looked for the model number on the modem but there was about 4 different numbers the modem had stickers all over it. The number i have is 0766 its a internal 56k modem. I want to know if theres any other way of retrieving the model number without opening the case up and removing the modem?

Go here to locate your product code: http://www.usr.com/support/s-main-menu.asp click on Locate your product code
there are a few ways to check but you may need to open it up & remove to be sure.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago, you will have to take it out and locate the part/serial number on the modem - it will be there somewhere, then follow the link above
