Hi,

I was told that when making a Video CD that the captured MPEG file can be any size just as long as the movie does not exceed 74 mins, is this right?

So if my movie file was say 950 meg in size but was only 60 mins in length does that mean it will still fit on a 700 meg disk?

hi KiloHertz,

as a rule of thumb a standard vcd is 10 meg=10 min. of video with an .mpeg1 file.

at the moment i have 3 movies on my h/drive all standard .mpeg1
vcd compliant:-
1----878 meg = 88.06 min length
2----791 meg = 79.20 min length
3----1.01 gig = 104.35 min length

1 will fit on a 90 min cd-r
2 will fit on a 80 min cd-r
3 will have to be split to go on two cd-r`s

hth ;)
