I've got a 80gig h/d split into two so there's 38gig on each after the OS is installed, anyhow everything seem fine for a while after about six month without having to reformat all the time, but now I can't seem to find where about 14 to 15gig has gone on the main drive i use I can acount for about 21gigs or so i'll even throw in another gig just for all the installation programs and stuff, so what i'm thinking is, have I got some large files somewhere that need to be deleted I have checked but i'm no pro at this:confused: so it there a way for me to regain some h/d space on my main drive as the other one I rarely use?. I've defragmented my drive and all that twice in two weeks infact still no joy, and thats about all I know to do to regain space of a large size, so can anyone help !!!:beer:

search your hd for *.tmp files and delete the files you no longer need,
also empty your recycle bin just to make sure no large files are still in there.and i would run scandisk just to check if the free space was correct,since you say you cant account for the space usage

search in /windows/temp for large files and delete them if you're sure you wont need them... just don't delete a file called WIN386.SWP.

You can right click on folders and then pick properties to see how much space a folder is taking up.
