The Bosstone71 Jun 01, 2002, 08:08 AM The place I have sent my XBOX to is offering the choice between the Enigmah and the Messiah. Besides the difference in cost (messiah is $10 cheaper which is nothing really) what should I get?
Right now I am stumped... so if you were given this choice what would you pick? I have a few days to decide (they are coming in about 3-5 days) but I want to make sure I get the right one. I said I wanted the Enigmah, but now I am leaning towards the messiah.
So, what would you do.....?
The Firemaster Jun 01, 2002, 08:38 AM IMHO Enigmha m8, thats what ive got and it works like a charm, plus its upgradeable as well m8
brandonbooth Jun 01, 2002, 12:10 PM Well Enigmah just did a major f*ck up with their US shipments, I'd go for the Messiah.
deltwalrus Jun 01, 2002, 02:10 PM Shipping f*ck-ups are no reason to judge the hardware. So the Enigmah crew are better hardware hax0rs than logistical planners. Don't make no never mind to me, matey, I've ordered my Enigmah. It seems that they've worked out for the most people (those who know how to properly solder chips and burn discs).
The Bosstone71 Jun 01, 2002, 05:57 PM Well, from what I hear, the Messiah and Enigmah are about the same thing. Except for 29 wires vs 12 wires. However, I hate it when people misrepresent their product to get people to buy it. Makes me want to go with the other manufacturers. That could make me an ***-hole, but that is just me. That is why I am contemplating going with the Messiah.
krzylatino Jun 01, 2002, 08:32 PM Personally I feel more at home with enigmah they always have news keep you updated I feel safe, it looks promosing only ones promisng the future project like divx vcd extc....... I mean with the other chips thier just chips you dont hear anything. The enigmah stands in my opionion though I dont like the fact that thier was a screw up on the first shipment but they came through and fix it.
bearauto Jun 02, 2002, 04:48 AM Yeah I wonder if that software will ONLY work with Enigmah or what....
The Bosstone71 Jun 02, 2002, 09:09 AM Well, I don't care about region free DVD's or even macrovision disabled. Not a big deal to me, I'll never use the Xbox as a dvd player anyways. But, I am thinking to stick with my first choice of the Enigmah... everyone seems to have great success with it.
handyguy Jun 02, 2002, 11:43 AM I would prefer not to buy a first generation chip, but I may not have any option. The only first generation chip that I think works properly was the PS2 neokey. They never came out
with another version of it as far as I know.

I'd have to agree with you...although, it would be nice if I could do something with my backups.
deltwalrus Jun 02, 2002, 12:02 PM Well, if you can bear to wait, obviously the smartest course of action is to do so and let time and honest testimonials tell the tale. Over a longer timeline, you'll get a more accurate representation of which chip has what quirks and works well, etc.
But if you're an impatient b-a-s-t-a-r-d (like me :) ), you'll have to read all you can and make a judgment call. Like I said, my money went to Enigmah, but let's not turn this into a fanboy-like debacle. "U sux0r becuz U have Enigmah" and so forth.
vectis Jun 03, 2002, 01:00 AM I'd have to put my hard earned cash towards an Enigmah.
For some reason i think there more comitted to the Xbox scene than Extender and Messiah.
Also the 12 wire isn't close yet.

gollum Jun 03, 2002, 06:28 AM Well. Looking At The Whole Xbox Scene Of Late, I Would Just Wait A Little While For The 12 Wire Mods That Are About To Hit The Scene, Now That The Code Has Been Made Public :)...
I Would Think There Will Be A Price War Pretty Soon As More People Get Into The Process Of Making Em...
But If You Want One Like Yesterday Then Either One Can Do The Job Just As Good As The Other...
