How do they compare to Samsung HDDs ? freakshow Jun 01, 2002, 04:10 PM Yes.Ive had 3 of them and they all still work just fine.I dont know about samsung though. DIABLO Jun 01, 2002, 06:43 PM I've never owned one myself but i'm getting one soon the Western Digital Caviar 80GB Special Edition is the fastest IDE drive currently available almost on a par scsi drive. matttherat Jun 01, 2002, 07:12 PM Used both and they seem fine to me. User48 Jun 01, 2002, 11:48 PM Samsung I wouldn't recommend. WD I've heard a lot of good about as well as IBM (the 120 series is much better that the 75 which had some problems). Check out http://www.tomshardware.com Lots of good info about hardware in general. U48 altecmaster Jun 02, 2002, 12:09 AM i have always use WD and it works fine...never used samsung before.... i would stick with WD. jsmith921 Jun 03, 2002, 12:09 PM I use nothing but WD at my work. I install around 20 a month in new PC's at my work and have only had 1 DOA. I use WD at my home too. So yes WD are good.
