hey if u use newsgroups or ne thing else...u sometimes see PS2games paked in par format...not rar (or both)...i was just wonderin what the hell is .par extension...is it just another type of compresssion format...

its like fillers for regular rar files. if you have a corrupted rar file, dl a par file then it can take the place of the corrupted one

Int3g was right about them being like fillers, there was something on this in Open the other IIRC. The best software to use for all of this is of course Winrar.
