Hi.....I have a problem with installing one of my USB devices. It's a USB card reader/writer.

I'm on Windows 2000 Pro and every time I open Device Manager and enter the properties of 'USB Mass Storage Device' and click on 'Update Driver' then follow the steps to install the driver files.....the computer restarts when the files are being copied from the CDROM. Is there a fix for this rebooting prob? I've been doing exactly what's in the instruction. Maybe I should have bought a more 'official' brand. It worked fine when I was on Win98 First Ed.

Thanks

Try disconnecting the USB card from the USB port then install the driver. Connect the card to the port when asked by the setup program or when reboot.

Every time I plug in the device, the comp restarts. Once it's booted up again, in My Computer, there's a new icon labelled 'Removable Disk (F:)' but that can't be used like a regular drive like it says in the manual. The main thing I need is a removeable drive icon for the Compact Flash memory card. Should I just buy a different one?
