Hi All, I am haveing Cable Modem from NTL, 128Kbt. (cant afford higher) installed at end of week. Which is better/faster/convenient. USB or a 10/100 ethernet. Also told today by NTL that they be changeing their Cable Modem Box Manufacturer from Terayon to 'Ambit'.
Is this Ambit good or is it being done to stop us from useing software to make these modems go faster!!! Also was told by an NTL Employee that they not be Compatible with XP Pro, (only Win 98/Me/XP Home) and that if you get it to go with XP Pro you validate your Warity or something, is this true. I know lots of peeps who have got their cable Modems from NTL and got em working in XP Pro.
Is this Modem change name a ploy to Restrict us!!!!
Over to you nice Peeps for Any Answers........Catch you all later, Dennis.

System:- Abit KG7- Lite... Athlon 1.2Ghz...Hitachi 2500 DVD Rom...Lite-on 24x10x24 CDR/RW Burner... Exelo/GeForce 2 MX 400 64Mbt Graphics Card...
etc.,etc.,etc.,

If it works in XP home then I don't see why it won't work on XP pro.

It should work fine.

USB is easier to install because it's plug and play.
But I have heard that they have serious sync issues and frequently drop connection.
