paulete13 Jan 24, 2002, 10:58 AM Does a TV DVD accept AVI files ? TOMMO Jan 24, 2002, 04:03 PM No, a DVD standalone will not play an AVI. The AVI must be encoded into VCD compliant MPEG then burnt as a VCD in either WINONCD, NERO or EZCD Creator. You can use TEMPEnc to encode your AVI, it is a free encoder. Hope this helps.:clown: paulete13 Jan 24, 2002, 04:11 PM What do you mean by burn as a vcd ? TOMMO Jan 24, 2002, 04:21 PM DVD players generally accept the following disks:- DVD which is MPEG2. VCD (Video CD) which is MPEG 1. Audio CD Some DVD players accept CDR and CDRW disks. To create a DVD you need a DVD Writer and a blank DVD disk. At the moment these cost quite a bit, whereas CD Writers and CDR disks are considerably cheaper. VCD basically is a format used, especially in the Far East, instead of Video Tapes. A VCD burned onto a CDR is about the same quality as Video if encoded properly and the source is good. |
