Could someone please explain to me how you access certain newsgroups. I want to download MP3s from alt.binaries.music.bootlegs but I cannot for the life of me fathom out how I access these "alt.binaries" newsgroups.

I have been using Google Groups to read other newsgroups but I can't seem to find these ones? Do I need some sort of special news client software or something?

Please help - I'm thick!

Google probably doesn't carry binary newsgroups.
You'll have to find a news server that does. Try your ISP news server.

If your ISP doesn't carry what you're looking for, you might want to try searching for "public newsservers", there are websites listing these and the no. of groups they carry. For more regular/reliable service, there are websites that charge for access to nearly all binary groups.
