Hi,
I have a Gameshark v1.9, a no solder v4 mod (I have gotten a Cdr to boot on it)and im having problems booting a Dvdr. This is what i do: Start with GS v1.9 in the tray, Switch to Devil May Cry at menu screen, wait 30 secs, select without codes, then when it says hit x to play, i hold eject and switch DMC with Hot Shots GOlf 3(Dvdr). I wait 5 secs, hit X then it says "loading please wait" and the dvdrom makes sounds like its accessing, then stops, and it doesnt move from the "Loading please wait screen" any advice to what im doing wrong? any ideas?
thanks for any help you can provide.

you shouldnt need to do things like the amor core method or dave mirra method since yours is a GS v1.9
As for the problem, youre doing it correctly but what i would suggest is to try it with another DVDR game. It shouldnt be the media if it works on your friend's but then again everyone's PS2 is a lil different than the other.
Just to make sure, youre doing the following method right:
Play PS2 DVD backup games:
- Insert Disc1 of AR2 or GS2 which is for playstation2 into PS2 and boot as normal.
- Waiting for a while the "Main Manu" will be appeared on monitor, then tap EJECT button and the tray will move out, at that time, swap disc with PS2 original DVD game (Ex. DOA2 or Dave may cry) then tap EJECT button again to move back the tray and wait for about 30 seconds, after that choice "Start Game" and " Without Codes",
- Later, the message for change disc will be showed on the monitor, then pressing and holding the EJECT button until tray move out (it will take about 1-2 seconds), then release EJECT button and swap disc with ps2 DVD backup game within 5 seconds, after 5 seconds the tray will move back by itself, after that press X button and the DVD backup game will boot by then.

To boot a DVDR with the no-solder mod you can't swap the original with the backup using the "without codes" option. I tried it a thousand times and it wouldn't work. The game would just freeze every time. You must select "with codes", the when the GS2 asks you to change disks, DON'T DO IT. Instead, go ahead and press X. The GS2 will say "Updating Database". Immediately after pressing X, press AND hold eject. The tray will fly out giving you about 5 seconds to swap to your backup. The tray will automatically close itself and then load your backup. If this method doesn't work then that means you are not pressing eject soon enough after pressing X when the GS2 asks you to change disks. Still happens to me sometimes but not very often. This was the only method I was able to boot DVDR's with.
