No, I think ABARKIE meant that you will no longer be able to get pop3 mail forwarded to your Hotmail A/C. You will still be able to download your Hotmaile-mails using Outlook.

Hi,

To prevent confusion and hopfully to clarify this matter, I have copied below the actual wording of the email:-

ATTENTION POP MAIL USERS

Dear MSN Hotmail User,

We are sorry to inform you that as of July 16, 2002, we will no longer be able to offer POP Mail Retrieval to our Hotmail users with a standard free account. This means that you will not be able to aggregate e-mail from various accounts into a single Hotmail account.

If you would like to continue to use this feature, you can sign up for MSN Extra Storage. Extra Storage costs only £19.99* a year (that's an average of less than £2 a month), and provides a number of additional useful features, including:

10MB of MSN Hotmail storage — five times what you’re getting today
The ability to send and receive larger attachments — up to 1.5MB per message
30MB of MSN Communities storage — the perfect place to store photos
Exemption from account expiration policy — you’ll never have to worry about losing your account

Sign up for MSN Extra Storage by July 16 to avoid any interruption to your POP Mail Retrieval service.

Thank you,
MSN Hotmail Member Services

I hope this clarifies it and hopefully someone can tell me what I need to continue to pick email from my other email addresses to one place.

Thanks

If you want an email provider that allows you to sweep up all your email accounts, then outlook can do this.
OUtlook are saying that within hotmail.com you can pull in other email accounts, to save you having to go to a seperate website for each.

Yahoo was different; they stopped POP3 access (meanies) meaning you cannot collect your yahoo emails via a program like outlook.

I presume you can still collect hotmail messages via outlook as normal, just not collect other email accounts via the website.

Hope this helps

Can't you just use something like outlook or Eudora to collect your hotmail with POP and also collect the other mail you were using hotmail to get?

That would make things a lot easier.

You cannot collect Hotmail mail with POP. It does not support that. You can set it up in Outlook to recieve hotmail however, but it is very slow to work with not at all like POP.

There is a free email thing that actually stops spam as well that supports this feature:
