Ive had the game a few weeks now, but ive only just back my regular pc, before i was using an old P3 500.
With that, i tried it, and altho it was obviously jerky, it worked.

Now, with my duron 750, everything runs and installs fine, until the start of the game where they guy syas 'i know somewhere near the tred light district where we can lay low'
Normally, the camera pans around and u can run about and get in the card yeh? Well it used to on the P3
But on my duron, it gets to this bit, the writing dissappears, and the guys just stand there, and u cant do anything. It DOESNT crash, cos the newspapers are blowing around and stuff, and u can still get to the menu wan everythin.
Ive started new games, shut down the pc, everything, and it still just 'stops' at this bit!
Its sooo weird
Any help is appreciated, cos i wanna play this 2night lol

Just in case (altho i cant see wh it would make any differenece) here my spec

Duron 750
384MB SDRAM
32mb TNT2 GFX
12gb HD

Go check the forums at www.isonews.com They have been trying to figure out problems in the posts there. Was you tnt2 in your pentium system?I know they said tnt2's have a hard time running that game.

cheers m8, ill have a look

it was a TNT2 in the other system, but a different brand of card
its weird, cos in the intro and everything, all the graphics look great and move smoothly.
Ive still got the card from the P3 system, should i try using that instead of my present one?

(and everyone, yes i know i should buy a more up to date card, but i rarely play games, GTA3 is the first in ages)

dude, its a graphics card conflict, bsts sorted me, u need 2 download a patch from microsoft, and then it runs gr8, smae thing happened 2 me, no text in menus and stuff, ask around and get the patch, certain graphics cards do not like the game but this sorts it out a treat :)

cheers m8, but i actually got it working just by updating my gfx card drivers.
It runs well but is jerky when the car flips over etc....so not too playable....i think it may finally be time to shell out for a new graphics card :(

I think a new graphics card would solve your ptoblem and increase your frame rates dramaticly, there alot more cheaper then they used to be, you can pick a ge force 3 up for £100.
