vinniedub Jan 24, 2002, 08:14 PM ok, you want the best? as has been mentioned on this very board. pioneer are by far the best karaoke tunes EVER made.
if you're serious about karaoke, you'll want these.
up to 28 pioneer video tracks, ripped from the original 12 inch laser discs.......on one VCD
the sets are 1 to 27, 301 to 311, E1 to E15
due to limitations of CD's there are some edits but you will not miss out. anybody ordering any full set will get topped up with the edited tracks and the Neil Diamond pioneer disc which also contains the dkk Beatles video disc, 4 discs in all
as if that wasn't enough also for trade UNITED laser discs. these discs are second only to pioneer for the quality of the music, also on VCD. 2 laser disc per VCD. thats 28 laser discs on 14 VCD's (also with some edits but don't worry you are not missing anything worth having) these discs are multiplex with guide vocals on the left channel, just hit your multiplex button on a JVC player to get rid of the guide vocals only, or if you dont have this function on your machine, just unhook your left speaker.
at £5 per disc you may think they are expensive but remember what your getting.
NOCHEX ONLY, PLEASE
minimum order 2 discs
let's be clear about this, PIONEER WIPES THE FLOOR WITH sunfly, essentiall, sound choice etc, etc

Keymaster Jan 25, 2002, 01:33 AM I agree Vinnie. The Pioneer Karaoke disk are the best (a few DK and SoundChoice tunes were arguably as good). So good in fact they put Pioneer out of the business. They overproduced them. I know musicians who worked on these productions who complained of the level of perfection Pioneer demanded. They were not considered done until they sounded exactly like the original tunes. Pioneer expected to be able to market these at over $100 US per LaserDisk over a decade ago.
Do you have a list? If so could you e-mail me one?
oxocubeman Jan 25, 2002, 07:21 AM Can I have a list too? Searched for Pioneer listings but cant find anything about the old laser listings. oxocubeman@hotmail.com

Kroakie Jan 25, 2002, 03:41 PM What you say is right M8, but at a fiver a disc, way too expensive.
The Pioneer are exelent quality, but United are a pale imitation.
Apart from Pioneer you can forget most of the other laserdics, they are usually all sub-standard.
I know cos I have a large collection of Laserdiscs, including Pioneer, United, U-Best, Essential, Sunfly, Melovision and other far east rubbish.
If the Pioneer discs have vocals then these are the remixed versions, not as good a the originals.
vinniedub Jan 25, 2002, 10:29 PM to expensive!.........a £100 disc for a fiver? if you don't want them fine! that is the price though. as for the pioneer discs having vocals on them? where does it say that? THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL DISCS........
did you read any of it? the only thing you seem to have got right is the price :(
karaokestar2001 Jan 26, 2002, 07:39 AM Some of the Pioneer range we recompiled to include a multiplex channel... these were never really the same quality as the original.
I totally agree with Kroakie on the UNITED discs they are not as good as the Pioneer range.... by a long long long way.
£100 disc!!! yes over 10 years ago! The prices have changed nowadays m8. You can get them for £25 - just over the price of a CDG, 12months ago they where around £49 to £65. I suspect you didnt pay anywhere near £100 for them either.
Star2001.
vinniedub Jan 26, 2002, 09:44 AM second hand yes. you can get new back catalogue sunfly for £8.but that's not the point. when new these discs cost £100. how much i paid is irrelevant. anybody buying these is still getting a bargain
karaokestar2001 Jan 26, 2002, 10:20 AM No not 2nd Hand m8. Brand new. check here. www.cookies.co.uk
I have been buying Laserdisc for around 9 years now and have never paid over £75 for them. You can't say there are worth £100 anymore.
Sunfly CDGs where £32+ when they first come out but you don't see mastermix etc. saying they are worth that now!
vinniedub Jan 26, 2002, 11:13 AM this collection was put together by someone who paid £100 per disc. therefore a £100 disc for a fiver!
vinniedub Jan 26, 2002, 11:23 AM @karaokestar, to quote yourself re KJs 'this set cost almost £300 when released' i had the full set of KJs. which were given to me for..............nothing! i passed them on for.......nothing! does this mean that KJs are worth................nothing?
Kroakie Jan 26, 2002, 03:52 PM Ooops he's thrown his dummy out of the pram!!
Like others selling karaoke discs on this forum, the prices being asked are too high.
1) Laserdisc to VCD transfers are "generally" substandard.
2) the top price for ripped discs is around £3
My advice to would be buyers is:
Buy the copies of the VCD range of United Laserdiscs, far better than transfers.
The tracks on the Pioneer range are very "American" and therefore a large amount of the tracks won't get used. Check the listings.
Please don't compare the KJ Tools CDG set with the Pioneer LD's.
The KJ tools set has "no fillers", without a doubt the best starter set there is for both quality and content. Basically the best tracks ripped from the best discs around. If you have it then you already know it!!
£5 a disc, yes for compilations, no for straight rips.
I don't disagree that £5 a disc is a bargain, but these days there are better deal around.
Ask Karaokestar, he spent hours encoding KJ Tools, but can't get a reasonable price for them.
karaokestar2001 Jan 26, 2002, 08:50 PM Hey m8,
I am offering over 200 songs with no fillers of the highest standard for £6!!! not £5 for 28 tracks with some fillers.
If you have had the KJ Tools collection then you know its the Dogs B*****s.
I am offering QUALITY & QUANTITY.
Star2001.
vinniedub Jan 26, 2002, 09:54 PM you have no idea about the quality or standard of these discs, i can assure anybody looking in here that there is nothing substandard about these discs.
and the reason i passed the KJs on is that they pretty much duplicated what i already had.
PLEASE DO NOT ADVERTISE YOUR GOODS IN THIS THREAD :furious:
maximus Jan 27, 2002, 02:45 AM Were not here to critisise one another guys....so dont.
Maximus
karaokestar2001 Jan 27, 2002, 08:57 AM Hey! if you hadn't brought my collection into it I wouldn't have brought it up.... Blame Yourself.
vinniedub Jan 27, 2002, 09:23 AM the first order will be shipped tomorrow, and if the buyer looks in here, as soon as he gets a chance to review the discs i'd like to invite him to comment on the quality of the goods he has just bought
DannyT Jan 27, 2002, 01:36 PM Right this has gone on long enough.
This is fast becoming a slagging match and I will not allow this forum to be used in this way.
The answer is very simple if you want the products offered for sale then buy them if you don't want them then don't buy them. Simple eh?
