View Full Version : CD Writer reading very very slowly.

i am trying to Backup GTA3 for the pc and when I try and read the discs its taking round about 4 hours to read a disc. my writer is a 16x32x24 LG burnproof/dvd combo. I am trying to use clonde cd, and reading at max speed.

GTA3 is protected with SafeDisc2. This means that there are large numbers of read errors at the start of the disc which can slow some readers down.

Make sure that you have FES enabled.

Moving this, yet again, to VGB.

i actualy scanned the disc with cljney and it found no protection because the game is a backup, not the originol so i thought the protection would have been removed?

You did not say that you were copying a backup. Is it a backup that requires a crack or not??

yes it need the exe patching vut thats already on the disc. i scanned it with ClonyXL and it told me to burn at 4x with fast error skip on so the dummy files are still there.

Did you try the program Blindread? I have gotten success duplicating discs that my cd drives had trouble reading.
