:bawling: if have an external modem, and when am not on line ,if some one rings me my comp will restart itself, and when the comp if off, if the phone rings the fan and the green light come on but it doesnt start up, any one got an idea.

Have you checked the bios there is an option for wake on Lan or
modem ??!!

If this is on the comp may start up when a modem or lan card contacts it !!

lol, that has to be the funniest thing ive ever heard, you must dread incoming phone calls.

Yep, happened to me, it's quite worrying I can tell you, couldn't understand why my PC was on when I came home from work most days !!

As whiteghost says, it's the wake up LAN setting in BIOS.

I couldent live with that m8 but i woulkdent mind it if i could turn on the pc with my phone :D i dunno what the problem could be apart from try looking in the bios or re-installing the modem.]

LOL - funiest thing I've hard in a long time (actually since yesterday when I heard Argentina were going home) :)

This problem won't affect the Argies though as they'll be at home to answer their phones !!!
