i have a v2 ps2 so any version of gameshark will work with my system so it can play backups. i wanted to know what the best version of gs to buy and use with the knife trick. cause i keep hearing out 1.xx is better than the newer versions. but the new version is available really cheap on ebay. is there an advantage of getting an older version or can i save my money and get the new version?

thanks

some chip won't work with 1.7 or up, so 1.7 is the best one last time i heard.

Depends on what your setup is.
DO you have a modchip?
what version of PS2 do you have?
Also what techniques are you using to play your backups.

I have a v2 PS2 and use the knife technique to play my DVDr and CDr games and I like Gameshark2 versions 1.9 and 1.93 the best.

It's really easy to load your games with this method.

1.93 is an extremely rare version...
I'd go with 2.01 cuz it's the most up-to-date version and you don't need a dongle.

A dongle is a piece of hardware that Gamesharks uses to store codes on. It's basically a gs2 memory card. It fits into the memory card slot.
