Hello m8s,

i've just had my sons ps2 chipped (dont know that much about it really) it is a (R) model and i believe it has had a neo 4 or 5 fitted, i have bought a couple of DVDR games for him and when he tried to load them he got a message on the screen saying you need a playstation or playstation2 format disc, i phoned the peeps who fitted the chip and they said he could use his demo disc that came with the console as it would have sufficent memory to do this, they told me of a long and withdrawn way of booting the system of which i did'nt quite get right when i tried, does anybody know what i should do please,

thanks for you're help, Hudbud

Ok, if you have Neo4, you need a boot disc. Demo cd's are not really good as a boot disc. There are 2 games that are perfect as a boot disc. First is Devil May Cry, second is GTA3. To be a boot disc game has to be "big". Devil May Cry and GTA4 are 4.7GB and are the biggest so far. After you buy them do this:
1)Load PS2 without a cd and goto browser.
2)Open the tray and insert a boot disc.
3)Close the tray but keep eject button holding till the gold disc appears on the screen.
4)Release eject button and the tray will open, swap boot disc with the dvd-r, they will close it self. The game will load.
That's it.
P.S. The boot disc has to be original.
