I have a Dell CSR Laptop running windows 98 SE and I bought a CNF Cardport DVD player for it. I tried to install it and at first it asked to install it into the c: dos directory. There is know such directory so I looked for MCSDEX and installed it in the windows command directory. The computer see's it there but no driver is installed. When I use the disk that came with it , it says no driver found. I have tried all the drivers on driverguide.com and could not get any to work!! I'm at a loss on what to try:( . Any help would be great!!:round: Does anyone have any ideas!!!

Why don't you follow the install instructions in order to properly install the drivers? The DOS directory is the \Windows\Command folder.

I have used the insruction but, still cannot find the dtiver. When I explore the floppy, under windows 95 file it shows cardport.mpd. Is that the driver?

Is there any INF or EXE or other files on the floppy?

No theres not!! I found out that the card is not reconized in start-up. I need the intel 82365SL PCMCIA controller, on my laptop for it to be detected.

You'll need to check the laptop maker's website for drivers. What's your laptop make/model?

Is there any drivers CD or floppies that came with the laptop? You should install the PCMCIA support software from that CD or floppy.

The problem is, unlike desktop, hardware controllers must be fine tuned for each laptop models so you'll need the cardbus controllers software from the laptop manufacturer.
