Tiny Jun 17, 2002, 06:13 AM I`ve got the 3300D and can confirm that its played everything I have put in it. Multi region, vcd, svcd, cdr, dvd-r but I aint got a clue what RCE is so cant help on that one.
Its an excellent player, and has never had a problem with cheap disks etc but it does show every bemish on a disk, playing vcd and dvdr somtimes you get a problem with the picture jumping which dosnt show on a pc player but apart from that its 9/10.

Tiny,
Thx for the info
RCE (Regional Coding Enhanced), Basically what it is supposed do to is when you insert a DVD into a DVD player that has been chipped it will detect that there is a chip installed and therefore reject the disc, only seen this on U.S discs though not on any Region 2 as of yet but does not seem to work to great to be honest lol.
Maybe the Logix does not like crap media then have you tried the Datasafe 3rd Gen DVD-R discs if so had any problems with these ?

Tiny Jun 18, 2002, 06:01 AM Well for started the 3300D should come region free and if it dont then its only a hidden menu option to change it to Region free. The only down side to this player is the Macrovision as yet I havnt found a way turning it off to be able to recovd on my vcd.
As for the cheap disks, it dosnt seem to matter what disks it is, it has more to do with the quality of the recording. One example I always remember was a copy of Oceans 11 SVCD which was almost un watchable on the logix picture kept breaking up and all sorts. A friend asked for a copy (he owns original and needed a backup) so I ran off a copy using clone and decided to check the copy and apart from a couple flicks in the picture it was perfect. I had the same with spiderman recived a copy on Datasafe which had a clicking sound every couple seconds, copied it for a m8 (yep hes got the original aswell) and played that on a ritek disk and that was perfect aswell. I`ve not tracked it any further than that but am more than happy with the player.
