My Cd-rom player broke down. It still opens but when I insert a CD and close it, the player will: 1) open again. or 2) The player doesn't find the CD.
Can I do anything?
Thnx

Remember some drives have problems reading some CDR media. 2) Try reading the CD in DOS. If your motherboard supports it you could try booting the Win98 disc from startup. If it reads the CD the CD drive is OK. It *could* be Win98 playing up (nothing new there) and not recongnising CD. I've never come across this but Win98 is very surprising... 3) If you can try it in another machine, easy to do. If problems still occur then indeed the CD drive is screwed. |
