Go to start, run, and type msconfig. Then, go to the startup tab uncheck the program to disable it. Then, to uninstall entirely, you should search the registry and remove all traces of it and delete the ecomerce folder from true dos.

Did you try Ad-Aware yet m8?

If that doens't work look in msconfig.exe and make sure it's not listed in Startup. Plus which OS are you running?

Hi Elaine M and Hoss, long time no see... good to see you guys still around.

i'm d/ling it now and will give it a try. the first thing i did was to go to msconfig and remove it from the startup list, then deleted the folder along with the program but when i restarted the comp the damn thing was back:confused:

You could try searching for the exe file. Go to Find/Files... and search by date created using the date that it first occurred and perhaps you can track down the exe file and its location and delete it.

You need to ctrl-alt-del to kill it before it will let you delete it. Have you searched for trojans and ran a virus scan yet? Also try going to Windows\Downloaded Program files and delete everything in it. You can always redownload the plugins later. You might also want to try restoring the registry to a day before it occurred using scanreg/restore. HTH

hi Elaine M, this thing was a bugger to say the least, there were 3 exe in the root of the c:/ drive that were named differently from the one that ran at startup. i found them but to answer ur question, there were no virus' or trojans thankfully thanks for your help.... you know what to look for if something like this happens to your comp!
