I have downloaded an avi movie off the net and I want to put it onto dvd-r.
I have been following the excellent guides on vcdhelp and doom9 but I'm struggling with the first stage.

When I load the avi file into VirtualDub I get the following error.

Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'MPG4' (Microsoft High Speed MPEG-4). Requires a Video for Windows compatable codec.

I have divx3.11 & divx5 loaded, what more do I need to do please?

The file won,t load in TMPGenc either.

Thanks for your continued support guys, much appreciated.

MPG4 is the Four CC codec for Microsoft MPEG4 V1. You need to install the Microsoft MPEG4 codecs.

Thanks for that celtic_druid. Could you point me in the direction that I might find them.

Well they are from microsoft.. http://www.microsoft.com

Probably easiest though to download the Nimo Codec pack as it contains them... I have a few different versions, hacks, etc. of them if you get stuck.
