I have a Panasonic DVD-RP56 shown here http://www.prodcat.panasonic.com/shop/NewDesign/ModelTemplate.asp?ModelId=11620&show_all=false&product_exists=True&active=1&ModelNo=DVD-RP56&CategoryId=2560 and it seems to be a good DVD. Got it for under $200! But I think I will change it for the XP30 that Stochkov talked about in a previous thread. Is that a good idea btw?

Anyway, I burnt a CD-R with a coupke of video clips that have the following extensions: Movie File MPEG just to see if I could watch them. i burnt them in Nero and thought they would work but nope! It says on the TV screen that I should insert a CD that is supported by the DVD player.

What have I done wrong? How do I make them work with my DVD?

Danke

DVD players can not play MPG files. You need to produce a SVCD, VCD or DVDR. To see what formats & media your player supports check this list (http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php)

Check these tutorials on creating VCDs (http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm) and creating SVCDs (http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencsvcd.htm).
